How Has the Legislature Fared on Women’s and LGBT+ Rights?

During this legislative term, Puerto Rico saw women hold the majority in the Senate for the first time, occupying 14 of the 27 seats. Despite this historic milestone, there were numerous attempts to restrict abortion rights and limit the rights of LGBT+ communities.
