Journalism Training Institute

IFP

Since 2007, the Centro de Periodismo Investigativo has organized training and events to support the professional development of journalists in Puerto Rico. The Journalism Training Institute brings those efforts together through courses, workshops, professional support and opportunities to share resources.

The Institute offers workshops, courses, training sessions and lectures by international guests on topics including:

  • Investigative reporting and research methods
  • Finding, analyzing and using data
  • Accessing public records and information
  • Writing and editing for digital audiences
  • Redacción para internet
  • Audio, video and visual storytelling
  • Ethics in investigative journalism

Strong journalism gives people the information they need to participate in public life, demand transparency and hold those in power accountable. The Institute supports that work by helping journalists strengthen their investigative reporting and writing skills.

The Institute also works with partners and offers resources to support your reporting and writing.
