  • CPI ASKS COURT TO ORDER LAND AUTHORITY TO DELIVER INFORMATION ABOUT ITS GOVERNING BOARD

    San Juan, PR – The Center for Investigative Journalism (CPI, in Spanish) today sued the Puerto Rico Land Authority (ATPR, in Spanish) for ignoring a request for access to public information about the composition and minutes of its Governing Board.    Since January 23, 2024, journalist and founder of Bonita Radio, Carmen Enid Acevedo, who received a scholarship from the CPI Journalism Training Institute, requested by email from Irving Rodríguez executive director of the ATPR the minutes of the Governing Board meetings, the composition of the Board, and who have been its secretaries from 2018 to the present, . After several days without getting a response, the journalist went to the Land Authority headquarters to follow up.

  • CPI PIDE AL TRIBUNAL QUE ORDENE A LA AUTORIDAD DE TIERRAS ENTREGAR INFORMACIÓN DE SU JUNTA DE DIRECTORES

    San Juan, PR  – El Centro de Periodismo Investigativo (CPI) radicó hoy un recurso judicial contra de la Autoridad de Tierras de Puerto Rico (ATPR) por no atender una petición de acceso a información pública sobre la composición y las minutas de su Junta de Gobierno.    Desde el 23 de enero de 2024, la periodista y fundadora de Bonita Radio, Carmen Enid Acevedo, quien fue becada por el Instituto de Formación Periodística del CPI, solicitó por correo electrónico a Irving Rodríguez, director ejecutivo de la ATPR, las minutas de las reuniones de la Junta de Gobierno, la composición de la Junta, y quiénes han sido sus secretarios desde el 2018 al presente. Tras varios días sin recibir respuesta, la periodista acudió a la sede de la Autoridad de Tierras para dar seguimiento.

During these conversations, people denounced the acquisitions of coastal land, as it happened in the Joyuda neighborhood in Cabo Rojo, on the southwest coast, and the development of luxury residential projects in the Bajuras neighborhood, in Isabela, in the North coast.
